Sherlock Sentinels Meeting January 7th

The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities is looking for individuals with disabilities and family members of individuals with disabilities to participate as Sentinels and members of their Sentinels Advisory Committee.

Sentinels help inform the Sherlock Center of the needs and challenges for individuals with disabilities in Rhode Island.

The first Sherlock Sentinels Meeting of 2016 will be held on Thursday, January 7, with one session being held in the afternoon and another in the evening.

Perspectives Employment Services: Helping People to Achieve Their Goals, One Step at a Time

Arriving at the Elmwood Health Center at 4pm you can find Giovanny Mazariegos, smiling widely, preparing to start his shift. He is soft spoken, shy you may say, but eager and enthusiastic to show you around his place of work.

For the past two years, Giovanny has worked six hours a week in the Activities Department at Elmwood Health Center in Providence, R.I. Similar to many 23 year-olds, Giovanny Mazariegos has hopes and goals for the future, and although he started as a volunteer at EHC, his personable and "always willing" attitude have helped him obtain the skills needed to be successful in the workforce.
