A Night of ASL Poetry, Presentation, and Performance
By Jason Carpenter | November 3, 2017
The Brown University Sign Languages Society will be hosting their 3rd annual ASL Coffee Slam next Friday, November 10th at 5:30pm in the Brown University Bookstore for a fun night of ASL performances, "open mic", mini TED-talk style presentations, and improv games!
Anyone is welcome to attend this variety show and the society will have a fellow student volunteering to voice what's going on "on stage" so that the event is accessible to those that don't know American Sign Language or are still learning the language.
If there are any Deaf poets or performers out there - literally anyone that might want to present something in ASL - the society would love to have as many people and as much diversity of performances as possible.
To sign up as a performer please email: allyson_quick@brown.edu or brownuniversitysls@gmail.com
All are welcome! Performances will be voice interpreted by a volunteer.
When: Friday, November 10th @ 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Where: Brown University Bookstore, 244 Thayer Street in Providence
