It was a beautiful sunny day on Saturday June 25, 2016 at 1PM, when Paula and Scott said "I do" during their commitment ceremony. A gathering of friends and family bore witness to this festive occasion.

Our couple's love story began 23 years ago when they met at Envisions Gallery in Westerly. Paula didn't really know Scott, but he clearly knew who she was. Unbeknownst to Paula, Scott had a bit of a crush on her. Paula recalled that she found out that Scott loved her through Janet Ladd. Scott asked Paula out to many dinners over the past 23 years and to no one's surprise, Scott told Paula that he loved her first.



Scott and Paula moved in with the McGiveney family in a Shared Living Arrangement in December of 2015. In their new home, they have a lovely living space that suits them and their needs. Soon after moving in with the family Scott and Paula had discussed getting married. They made the decision to have a commitment ceremony and Scott set out to purchase Paula the last of 3 rings he's purchased over their 23 years together. This time he purchased a diamond. Paula proudly wears her ring every day as a reminder of their commitment to each other. Once the ring was purchased, wedding planning went in to full swing. Cara Riley, Scott and Paula's SLA Service Coordinator assisted with lots of details around their big day.



The bride, Paula Byron wore a lovely blush full length strapless gown that was donated for free by Melissa Ashley Wedding Dresses on 32 High Street in Westerly, RI. Our Groom, Scott Edwards wore a grey tuxedo provided for 50% off and on short notice by Alterations Unlimited on 5 Woodruff Ave. Narragansett, RI.



In addition to the aforementioned businesses, Scott, Paula and the McGiveney family would like to thank the following businesses and people who contributed to their big day!
